Cocktail of the Day: The Easy Eden

I have always loved grapefruit so when Ketel One came out with their new Botanicals Vodkas, I was naturally excited for the Grapefruit Rose vodka.

I recently bought a bottle, and let me tell you, it’s nice.

It is every bit as smooth as you would expect a Ketel One vodka to be. I was a bit surprised at how sweet it is. I was expecting a much more subtle flavor. The Grapefruit is very prevalent. I didn’t taste the rose as much as I had hoped, but overall, the flavor is very nice, and I was quite satisfied. You could easily pair this with soda water or just serve it on the rocks and have a smooth, tasty drink. That’s not my style though, so of course, I had to create a cocktail!

The Easy Eden

I have decided to call this martini ‘The Easy Eden”. It is simple to make, with few ingredients, and it’s grapefruit and floral flavors make it simply delightful. Be advised though, this cocktail is pretty much straight alcohol, and you can’t tell by drinking it, so please, enjoy responsibly.

You will need:

  • Grapefruit Vodka (I used Ketel One Botanicals Grapefruit and Rose)
  • Saint Germain
  • Dry Vermouth
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Lemon slice
  • Orange bar bitters (optional)

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add 3oz of Grapefruit Vodka, 1oz Saint Germain, a splash of Dry Vermouth, a splash of Cranberry juice (for color), and squeeze your lemon slice. Close the shaker and shake vigorously, then strain into a chilled martini glass. Add a drop or two of bitters if desired, and garnish with an orange or lemon twist or a rose petal.

Enjoy!

    1. Oh girl we would be in so much trouble! It would be grand! Ketel One has always been a favorite of mine. Check them out, and if it’s not available to you for whatever reason, any grapefruit flavored vodka will do, and you could add some rosewater if you want to make it exactly as i did.
      Thanks for reading luv!
