Lastly, thank you to all the strong women past and present for leading, encouraging, and supporting us. We women have come a long way on the shoulders of your accomplishments, and your bravery allows us to complete your work generation to generation.

Q&A

1. What does women empowerment mean to you? To me, female empowerment is a mobility of the masses. Women standing for their rights, their choices, and making no apologies for who they are or what they can accomplish.
2. What woman/women do you most admire? Why? There are way too many to list here. One that stands out in my mind though is Bettie Page. In a time of sexual repression, she was unashamed of her body. She faced legal ramifications for her actions and participation in material that was deemed indecent, but the women that came after her were a part of the second sexual revolution. With it came a dramatic shift in attitude toward women’s sexuality, and freedom of sexual expression, among other things. Another one is Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, first African female President. A strong advocate for women’s rights, giving hope and support to the women of a country ravaged by violence, where women endure unspeakable horrors, and speaking out against the rape stigma, among other things, earned her a Nobel Peace Prize in 2011. Each and every woman who has been battered, raped, emotionally abused, or ignored and has come out the other side to help her sisters in similar situations. Raising their voices to tell the world “This is NOT acceptable. We will NOT endure this.”  For their support, their strength, and their example. 
3. Share a story, drawing, or video that you think says “empowered  women.”  This isn’t a drawing, but I took the liberty of using it to answer this question anyway. I don’t know who this is, I don’t know who put this out there, but from the time I first saw it, it is the only picture in my head when someone says “Powerful Woman”. **If this is your image, I would love to give you some credit here, please don’t hesitate to contact me and give me the info I need to do so.
4. Share with us the best lesson you’ve learned in leadership. Never ask anyone to do something that you yourself are not willing to do. 
5. What cause do you most want to bring awareness to? Why?/What does it mean to you? Female equality as a whole. WE are not merely decorations. WE are powerful. WE are intelligent. WE can lead. WE can choose. WE are ANYTHING we wish to be!
